At the same address: James Wood (father), blacksmith, mother and 1 sister.
The 306th Brigade Royal Field Artillery (Territorial Force) was part of the artillery support for 61st (South Midland) Division. In August 1917 the Division was engaged in the Third Battle of Ypres (Battle of Passchendaele). The Battle opened on the 31st July with the Battle of Pilckem Ridge. This action had come to a conclusion by the 2nd August and the 61st Division were not engaged in another major action until the 16th August when the Battle of Langemarck opened. Fred Wood was not, seemingly, a casualty of any major action on the 7th August.
