Percy Veale was born at Bromsgrove in 1897, the son and one of 7 children of Philip and Elizabeth Veale.  The family resided at Stoke Road, Aston Fields, Bromsgrove.  Prior to the war Percy worked as a shop assistant.

Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Redditch Messenger, 29th September 1917:
Mr and Mrs Veale of Stoke Road, Aston Fields, have received official information that their son, Private Percy E. Veale, Worcestershire Regiment was killed in action on August 11th. Deceased had been previously reported wounded and missing.  Before the war he was employed at the Bromsgrove branch of the Maypole Dairy Company.

Percy Veale has no known grave, the photograph available shows his name on Ypres Menin Gate Memorial.
