We may be proud that one of our number Leonard Kite, has volunteered for active service. We are glad to note that Mr Albert Harwood has been promoted to the rank of corporal. We understand that, for the present, he will be acting as a military instructor in this country.

The War casualty list for the last few weeks in connection with our parish has been a grievous and heavy one. Whilst Sidney Allen is recovering from wounds, Jack Benbow is in hospital for the third time, Ernest Parker earns his second wound stripe by the loss of a leg. Harry Lamb and George Law are also wounded. Our list of killed has been raised to 15 by the death of Leonard Kite and William Bannister on the same day, September 29th R.I.P.
