The following information has been researched and transcribed by Jillian Coombes:
Birmingham Daily Post, Saturday 20th February 1915:
Killed While Sniping – Mr J. Bennett of Grove Street, Redditch, has received official news that his son Private H. Bennett of the 2nd Worcestershire Regiment, has died from wounds received in action on November 6.

On the 1911 census James and Fanny Bennett lived at 30 Grove Street, Redditch. Their son’s name was Hubert but he must also have been known as Harry. Hubert was aged 17 and a shop assistant.
