Malvern News, Saturday 1st September 1917:
Alfred Kent of Cowleigh (Sherwood Foresters) has died in hospital of wounds received in action in France. His mother, a widow, who for the last 2½ years at least has had six sons serving their King and Country, either in the Royal Navy or Regular Army; and in consequence has been the proud recipient of a letter of congratulation from HM the King. On several occasions one or other of her sons have been wounded, but till now their lives have been spared. Alfred was the only unmarried son.

Alfred Kent has no known grave, the photograph available shows his name on the Ypres Menin Gate Memorial.
