Further Information About MAJOR Harold
Native of Whitby Yorkshire.
Born August 25th, 1894
Harold Major, an adopted son of Canon Knox Little, entered the School in the Fourth Form in September 1911, and left from the Remove in July, 1912. He was a keen member of the O.T.C., and made good use of his short School time. He subsequently obtained a post on the Leopoldina Railway at Rio de Janeiro. On the outbreak of the war he returned to Europe to take a commission in the 5th Middlesex Regiment. He did well, and was rapidly promoted to be Lieutenant, and was expecting a further step when after 10 days in France he was mortally wounded in the attack in Halluch, and died on October 22nd. A friend has written of him: “He was one of the straightest chaps I knew.”
