John Pruden attended Redditch County High School from 1920 to 1926. Whilst engaged on ferrying a Spitfire to Scotland, he was reported missing in August 1942. His body was later recovered.

John Pruden was flying Spitfire V Serial No EP748 when he was posted missing on a ferry flight from Desford to Prestwick. His aircraft was last seen off Girvan.
