TUNKS James

James Harold Tunks joined Kidderminster Borough Police as PC K023 on 20th August 1914 when he gave his date of birth as 9th September 1885 at Kidderminster, his home address as 18 East Street, Kidderminster and his previous employment as a Labourer. At the time he joined the force he was 28 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches tall with a fresh complexion, blue eyes and dark brown hair.

On 27th September 1911 James married May Wilkes in Kidderminster and the couple had 2 children, a son born in 1912 and a daughter born on 9th February 1913. He retired from Kidderminster Borough Police on 19th August 1939 after 26 years service, receiving a pension of £145. 1s. 7d per annum. James died on 5th January 1958.
