Further Information About MULLINER Sidney

HMS Queen Mary was a battle cruiser. On the first day of the Battle of Jutland, she was hit by several German shells fired from SMS Defflinger, one of which penetrated into the ship’s magazines. The ensuing explosion sank the ship in minutes with the loss of 1,266 of her crew. She was the largest warship sunk by the German Navy in World War 1, her loss was a severe blow to the Royal Navy as her 13.5 inch guns were the most accurate in the British Fleet.
