James Taaffe was born on 1st January 1922. He entered Form 2, Kings School in April 1932. At the time of his admission to the school his parent is recorded as F.A.T., Mount Pleasant Hotel, Malvern. James had previously been educated at Kingswell Hall Prep., *** near Bath. He left Kings School from Form VI in December 1940. RAF. (Killed)

According to the book Kings School, Worcester 1541 – 1971 by Michael Craze, James Taaffe was Captain of the school only two years before he died.
