William Edwin Neal, Private, 26124, 2nd Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry, 1 Stour Lane, appears on the Absent Voters List for Stourport 1918.

William Neal was the son of Joseph and Sarah Ann Neal of Stour Lane, Stourport and the husband of Esther Annie Neal (nee Bowen), 1 Stour Lane, Stourport.  He was an active Christian worker, Sunday School teacher and Band of Hope officer at the Congregational Church.  He enlisted three years ago and went overseas with the Oxford & Bucks Light Infantry.  Married in 1916.  Died of influenza and bronchitis at No. 83 General Hospital, Boulogne.  He is one of three sons lost, two are buried in France.
