Appears in the Worcester/Worcestershire Roll of Honour Book for army casualties located in Worcester Cathedral, surname spelt Lessemore.

Charles Lissemore enlisted as Private 14406, 17th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers on 31st December 1914 at Dudley for the duration of the war. He was posted to his battalion at Bury on 2nd January 1915. At the time of his attestation he was 20 years and 31 days old, resided at 83 St John Street, Kates Hill, Dudley, Worcestershire and he was employed as a Striker/Edge Tool Maker. Charles was 5 feet 1 and a half inches tall, his next of kin, was his father, William Lissemore, who resided at the same address. Charles had 7 brothers and 2 sisters. In September 1915 he was sentenced by a military court to 72 hours detention for using obscene language to an NCO. He was posted overseas and embarked for France from Southampton on 28th January 1916. On 14th April 1917 Charles was admitted to hospital in France suffering with a gunshot wound to his right leg. He was discharged from hospital on 18th July 1917 and given leave until 27th July 1917. On 19th June 1918 Charles transferred to 29th Battalion Durham Light Infantry. He was reported killed in action in France on 4th October 1918.
