Charles Illingworth was born on 15th October 1896. He entered Form Prep B at Kings Norton Boys School on 14th September 1911, passed the Oxford S.L. Honours Class II in 1913 and left the school from Form VI on 24th July 1913. His home address on the school records was given as 71 Cartland Road, Stirchley. Additional information on the record: Killed in action. Sept. 1916.

Charles Illingworth worked at the Bristol Street, Birmingham branch of Lloyds Bank. His name appears on the Lloyds Bank War Memorial unveiled at the Head Office on 8th February 1921 and in the company’s Memorial Album 1914 1918.
