Malvern Advertiser, 3rd October 1914:
Philip Urban Vigors has been appointed the adjutant of the 8th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment.
The following report appears in the Bromsgrove Weekly Messenger, 7th April 1917:
Captain Philip Urban Vigors of Fernhill Heath, Worcestershire Regiment. Died at Fernhill Heath. In his 42nd year. Served with the Worcesters, was sent home about a week ago, feeling unwell and developed pneumonia. Educated at Marlborough he joined the Royal Irish Regiment and Captaincy in 1904. Served in South Africa 1889-1902. Won Queen’s medal and five clasps, King’s medal and two clasps. Member of Victorian Order. Took part in relief of Kimberley and other operations. In early part of present war was adjutant to 2/8th Worcesters. Married daughter of Mr. T.J. Jones-Williams of Wichenford. Enthusiatic member of Worcestershire Hunt. Leaves a widow and one daughter.
