An unsigned letter from 16 Knight Street, St. John’s, Worcester, no date, can be found within war records held at Worcestershire Archives requesting that his name be added to the county roll of honour.  The letter states that Captain Desmond Arthur Stokes, R.A.S.C., No 6 M.A.C., B.N.A.F. died of injuries on active service on 21st March 1943 aged 29 years.
