Extracted from the Kidderminster Shuttle, 6th January 1917:
News has been received that Private Perry of the East Surrey Regiment has been missing since July 23rd.  Private Perry formerly lived at East Street and was at one time employed by the Tannery, Orchard Street.  He was working near London when war broke out.

Walter was the son of John and Matilda Perry formerly of George Street and East Street, Kiddermister (See censuses 1871 to 1891).  He is the husband of Minnie Perry of Percy Road Mitchum Junction Surrey (see 1911 census).

Walter Perry has no known grave, the photograph available shows his name on Thiepval Memorial.
