The following report appears in the Worcester Evening News, Tuesday 1st September 1942:
Worcester Air-Gunner Missing
Mr and Mrs Margetts, 3, Croydon Villas, Oldbury Road, Worcester have received information that their elder son, Sgt. E.W. Margetts is missing following operations. Sgt. Margetts was an air-gunner in the R.A.F., in which he had been eighteen months before war broke out. He was educated at St Clement’s and Christopher Whitehead School and after a period at the Victoria Institute Commercial School, he went to Osborne & Sharpe’s for a time and then into the R.A.F.
