Adam McLeod was born on the 22nd February 1883 at the Free Church Manse, Croy, Invernesshire. He was the son of George Gordon McLeod, Minister of United Presbyterian Church (Domicile – 4 Smith’s Place, Leith) and Jessie Sophia McLeod (nee McLennan) who had married on the 5th June 1878 at Ardclach.
