Albert Lamb was born in Ombersley, the son of William Henry and Ellen lamb. In 1911 the family were resident at Spring Lane, Malvern link; Albert was employed as a “Dairy Farm Boy”.
Albert Lamb first saw action in Gallipoli where he landed on 15th June 1915. On the evening of 21st April 1917, when Albert was killed during the battle of Arras, the 2nd Worcesters moved up from Judas Farm amid an intermittent bombardment and took over the outpost line North of Croiselles. Their casualties during the night were 3 killed and 2 wounded. He was awarded the 1914/15 Star, the British War Medal and the Victory Medal. His younger brother, Joseph Henry Lamb also served, initially with the Gloucestershire Regiment and later with the Worcestershire Regiment.
