Henry Grinnall is incorrectly listed on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and in naval casualty records as Henry James Grinnall.

The birth of Henry John Grinnall is registered in the June Quarter 1897 under the Winchcomb Registration District. In 1911 Henry Grinnall was resident in Dumbleton with his three older brothers. The head of the house was his sister Emma aged 27. Naval casualty records list Henry James Grinnall as born in 1896 and his relative as his sister Emily, Dumbleton Road, Evesham, Warwickshire. He was killed or died as a result of enemy action.
