Ernest Duffill was born in Nottingham in 1885, the son of Henry and Emily Duffill. He married Lilian Cooper and the couple resided at 160, Leach Green Lane, Rednal, Birmingham. On the 1911 census Ernest was employed as a Grinder for a Motor Company. He died in 1955, aged 70.
