The birth of Alexander William Clissold is registered in the September Quarter 1897 under the Stroud Registration District.  He enlisted as Private 241385, Gloucestershire Regiment on 25th May 1915.  After a period of overseas service he was discharged from the army aged 20 on 29th November 1917 due to wounds.  Alexander died in 1919 at the age of 21, his death is registered in the June Quarter 1919 under the Stroud Registration District.
