Alfred James Chambers was born in Beckford in 1878. In 1911, aged 33, he was a Market Gardener resident with his wife Sarah Ann, also aged 33, at Grafton near Tewkesbury along with their 6 daughters, Christabel aged 10, Annie aged 8, Eva aged 4, Edith aged 4, Elsie aged 1 and Ethel aged 3 months. Alfred was resident at Grafton, Beckford when he died on the 11th October 1963 aged 85.
