Additional information on the memorial: Boy, Royal Navy. at Plymouth. Oct 22nd 1918.

Bertram Carr was born at Upton, Worcestershire on 24th September 1902.  He died from disease on 22nd October 1918.

Beckford Sailor’s Death
The death occurred, after a brief illness, from pleurisy and pneumonia, at the Naval Hospital, Plymouth, on the 22nd October, of Bertram Carr, the only son of Mr and Mrs W. Carr, of Beckford. He was only 17 years of age, and joined the Navy only two months ago. Much sympathy is displayed towards Mr and Mrs Carr in their bereavement.
