Information has been received by Mr H E Blakeman, Willow Mead, Willow Road, Bromsgrove, that his brother Second-Lieutenant Albert V Blakeman, South Staffordshire Regiment, has been admitted to hospital suffering from gunshot wounds in the thigh. Lieutenant Blakeman’s parents reside at Aston and before the war he was employed at Messrs B Saunders and Son, the Button Works, Bromsgrove. Two of his older brothers have been killed in the war and Lieutenant Blakeman himself, who joined as a Private and quickly gained promotion, has been previously wounded in the arm. He was awarded a commission early in the present summer and after training went out again in July.
