Alfred married Beatrice Rose Banner in the Bromsgrove area in 1908 and the couple had 2 children, Alfred born in 1910, died aged 1 in 1911, and Gladys Rose born on 2nd December 1911. Beatrice was resident with daughter Gladys at 13 Hanover Street, Bromsgrove when she was awarded an army pension of 5 shillings a week for their child from 6th March 1916.

William Lammas was born in Bromsgrove on the 15th February 1893, the son of William and Emily (nee Penrice) Lammas. His mother Emily died aged 28 in 1898 and his father, William, married Myra Stanton in 1899. William entered France on the 5th October 1915. His stepmother, Mrs Myra Lammas, Malvern View, Berry Field, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire was briefly awarded an army pension of 7 shillings a week.

W. Lammas, Private, Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry was employed by the Midland Railway as a Labourer in the Carriage and Wagon Department at Gloucester Station. These details are recorded in the company’s memorial book.
