Alfred Williams was the flight engineer on Lancaster ED938 which took off from RAF Kelstern at 22.43 hours on the night of 12th June 1944 on an operation to bomb Gelsenkirchen, Germany. The aircraft was hit by enemy fire and crashed near Spanbroek, Holland.
