Albert Spiers married Ellen Louisa Hemming in the June Quarter 1907 under the Bromsgrove Registration District. In 1911 Albert Ellen lived at 108 Other Rd Redditch with their two year old son Albert Raymond Spiers.
On 22nd April 1945 Donald Spiers was the pilot of Lancaster NF994 HA-N which took off from Chedburgh airfield at 14.59 hours for ops to Bremen. Due to engine problems the aircraft returned early and at 20.32 whilst trying to land, it crashed near Depden Village, 1 mile SW of Chedburgh airfield. Five of the crew, including Donald Spiers, were killed instantly, two were injured, one of whom died later.
