Further Information About ROSSER Frederick

Information in All Saints Church, Wilden states that Frederick died of wounds in France aged 36 and was buried in Grave Town Cemetery, Meaulte.

Son of Mr G. Rosser of Wilden.  Died in a Casualty Clearing Station in France on November 16th of wounds received in the Battle of the Somme. Married with two children and lived at Pleasant View, Wilden. Enlisted two years ago and had been in France eighteen months, fighting in the Battle of Loos and several other engagements. Previous to joining the army, Rifleman Rosser, age 36, was employed at Wilden Iron Works. A brother-in-law, Private Lewis Goodyear, who enlisted over two years ago in the Worcesters, is in hospital in Salonica with malarial fever.
