Malvern Gazette, 20th January 1917:
Mr and Mrs Thomas Preece of 2 Mayfield Place, St Ann’s Road, has been officially notified that her son Pte Charles Preece, Worc R has died in hospital on the 4th January. Before the War he was employed at Mrs Need’s diary for 7 years. He was formerly Colour Sgt and Bandmaster of the Malvern Company, CLB. A memorial service will be held at the Priory for him on the 28th January.
