Further Information About PAGETT William Charles
The birth of William Charles Pagett is registered in the December Quarter 1895 under the Stourbridge Registration District.
William Charles Pagett was born at Wollaston, the son of William Pagett of Enville Street, Stourbridge. He enlisted in the Worcesters as a Territorial and joined the 2nd/7th Battalion. They crossed to France in the Spring of 1916 and were stationed in a quiet sector of Artois. However, even in such areas enemy artillery was active and Lance Corporal William Pagett was killed in action by shell-fire on the 4th July. He was 21 years of age. He is also commemorated on the St. Thomas’s church memorial and on his parents’ grave at Wollaston.
