Further Information About NIND Howard Percival
Rifleman, K.R.R.
Born November 11, 1897. Killed in France, August 17, 1917.
H. P. Nind was the only surviving child of G. E. Nind, Esq., of The Cottage, Evesham. He entered the Hostel in the Lower School in September, 1908, and left six years later from the Remove to enter a firm of Chartered Accountants in Birmingham. At school he was conspicuous as a gymnast, and was one of the keenest members of the O.T.C. Band, his cheerful disposition winning him many friends. He joined the K.R.R. early this year, and owing to his O.T.C. training was soon in France. His C.O. writes: “We went over the top on Friday, the 17th of August. He was one of the first to follow on. He set a fine example to his comrades, and his loss is much deplored in our Company.” He kept in constant touch with his old School, and was doing finely in his profession when the call to serve his country came.
