Herbert Hampshire was born in 1916. He attended Malvern College in House 5 from 1930 to 1933.

Herbert Hampshire was the pilot of Mosquito HJ941 which took off from RAF West Raynham, Norfolk on a bomber support mission. The aircraft was shot down by a night fighter over Holland killing Herbert Hampshire and Navigator Alan Melrose.
