John Griswold was born in 1896. He embarked with the Royal Marine Brigade on 23rd October 1915 and joined 2nd Royal Marine Battalion on 8th November 1915. He was posted missing, assumed dead on 28th April 1917, aged 21. Medals and clasps earned: 1914 Star, Victory and British War Medals and the Clasp. 1914 Star issued to father, Mr M. Grimley on 19th June 1919, Victory and British War Medals and Clasp not issued/claimed.
