Malvern News, 15th May 1916:
Pte A.E. Drinkwater of the Worc. R., formerly chauffeur to Mr M.H. Orr-Ewing, has been killed in action, aged 24. He enlisted soon after the outbreak of war and went to Gallipoli, where he was wounded in the arm. On his return to England he was first admitted to hospital in Birmingham and then to Evesham to convalesce. He then reported to Norton and was later returned to the firing line.
