Script from Worcester Herald dated 18th November 1916:
Information has been received by Mrs Coakes of 28, Barry street, Arboretum that her husband Private G H Coakes is reported and missing from 16th September. He joined the army at Easter and went out to France on August 11th. Before that, he was employed by Messrs Mcnaught’s, where he served his apprenticeship.

Two different photographs of Private G.H. Coakes can be found in Berrow’s Worcester Journal Supplement, Saturday 25th November 1916 and Saturday 8th September 1917, available at Worcestershire Archives.

George Coakes has no known grave, the photograph available shows his name on Thiepval Memorial.
