Peter Ainsbury was born at Guildford and moved with his parents to Stourbridge when he was about fifteen. The family lived at 125 Hagley Road, Stourbridge and he was a member of the New Road Methodist Church. He attended King Edward’s School from 1938 to 1940 and went on to study at the School of Engineering at the University of Birmingham. He was awarded a First Class degree and left for work in the Ministry of Aircraft Production. He is also commemorated at the Methodist Church, Stourbridge.
